2019 Makeup Trends

Trend #1

Spring is here and now is time to keep rocking that fresh, glowing, radiant skin! Fresh skin is not going to be going anywhere in the near future. While you are rocking fresh skin make sure you are keeping your skin healthy with the correct skin care products.

Play up that radiance after applying foundation with a subtle highlighter and rosy blush.

Is your skin still dull, sad and not glowing? Don’t forget Rejuvenate & Escape has insta-glowing treatments!

Trend #2 is something that we are going to LOVE.

Pink & Coral everything!

Whether it is your attire or makeup, blush pink and coral are the color trends for 2019.

For fashion: A dynamic and vibrant color, coral is particularly stunning when combined with the right hues—navy blue, taupes, and grays.

For makeup: A matte-coral blush will make those cheekbones pop and look radiant. Or choose to rock a coral lip color.

Trend # 3 Bold and Bright Lips

Statement lips are so popular. I've seen so many bold lips on red carpets, and not just red, but purple and orange as well. I loved Lady Gaga's blackberry lips at the SAG Awards

Trend #4 Monochromatic Makeup

Monochromatic make-up is one of the biggest trends for 2019. It's about taking a color, it can be a soft taupey brown, then using a similar color on the lips, using a blusher that's in the same family, and using an eye-shadow that's in the same family as well. It could be purple!

Spring Clean Your Makeup & Skin Care

Are you suffering from winter blues? Do you feel like your skin is not staying hydrated? Is your foundation not matching your neck? Do you look like your makeup is cake-y? Is your bathroom looking like a hoarders episode? If you answered yes to any of these, this is the blog post for you!

Did you know all skin care, makeup and hair products all have expiration dates. This may be clearly marked, or the dates start once you start using your products.

Set some time aside and go lock yourself in the bathroom. It’s time to start the dirty work of our beauty regimen.

  • Expiration: 6-12 months

  • Creams and moisturizers that have expired run the risk of causing irritation and even possibly infection when applied to your skin. Those that are not in a sealed pump container should definitely be tossed at around the 6 month mark.

  • Expiration: 4-6 months

  • These products differ in ingredients but one of the most common in anti-acne creams is benzoyl peroxide, which breaks down quickly. This is also the case for products with antioxidants.

  • Expiration: 1-2 years

  • This can vary as it is regulated by the FDA, so be sure to check the expiration date on the back of the container. Be wary of any that has been kept in hot conditions, such as your car, as the formula may have changed making it ineffective.

  • Expiration: 6-12 months

  • After this point the ingredients become less and less effective over time and fail to work as intended.

POWDERS (Eye-shadows, Blush, Pressed Powders)

  • Expiration: 1- 1 1/2 Years

  • After this point the ingredients become brittle and they are not as effective or as pigmented as they are meant to be.

  • Expiration: 3-4 months

  • Think about all the bacteria and oxygen that goes into those tubes. They are breeding grounds for nasty infections if we don’t throw them out.

  • Also, once oxygen starts entering the mascara tubes it starts to dry out the product. That is where we start to see the mascara flaking off of our lashes.

Still not sure when your products expire? Take a peek at the back of the item. Most beauty products have this image on them.
